What Its All About

Set in present day Washington State and raising questions about inclusion, American identity and equality before the law that are as important today as ever, What Itís All About dramatically interweaves the story of its central characters - activists and lawyers, returning veterans and ordinary citizens within the broader history of the motorcycle clubs of Washington state during a time of extraordinary change.

I Ride

Comment: Since the release of ''The Wild One'' in 1953, the world has been fascinated with the mythic culture of the American biker. Who are these people with the loud motorcycles, leather jackets, tattoos, and long beards? Where are they going as they roar through town in large packs? And what do they do when they arrive wherever they're going? ''I Ride'' is a documentary film that finally tells the true-to-life story of the biker community in America. When they were young in Sacramento, California, Harry and Tommy Fryed experienced a devastating family tragedy. Their response was to form The Fryed Brothers Band - a band devoted to what they love most: motorcycles and music.

Through the eyes and music of The Fryed Brothers Band, ''I Ride'' will take you on an illuminating road trip through the biker world: bare knuckle fights you actually sign up for, wild bar-b-ques and camp outs, and partying raw and rowdy at some of the biggest hard core biker festivals. This trip will wind up at Sturgis, South Dakota, for a Fryed Brother Band performance to end all performances. The Fryed Brothers Band? They're the best band you've probably never heard of. For 29 years they've been the exclusive 'house band' of America's Biker Movement. Every year The Fryed Brothers headline most of the preeminent biker events in America including the Easyriders Show in Sacramento, CA, Rip's Bad Ride in Irvine, CA, Ghost Mountain Riders Show in Salinas, CA, the Circle of Pride in Iowa, and most importantly, ''Sturgis Bike Week,'' the largest gathering of bikers in the world, which completely takes over the small town of Sturgis, South Dakota every August to celebrate this outlaw culture. ''I Ride'', the film, is a tribute to their perseverance, dedication and love of all things biker.

Starring: The Fryed Brothers Band, Willie Nelson, Sonny Barger, Pat Simmons, Steve Beatnik Werner, Miles Squire, Dave Nichols, Steve Schapiro. DVD Special Features: Jokes, Trailer, Chubb's Bro's (a short film), and interviews with Willie Nelson & Crew, Pat Simmons, Miles Squire, Mama Fryed, and Fryed Brother's Fans.

Sons of Anarchy: Season One (2008)

Comment: Biker Gang.......nothing could be further than the truth. As it appears that nobody knows what a club is. These outlaw clubs are not (gangs) likened to street gangs or others. They are democratic in nature and very much akin to clubs like the ELKS, Masonic order, Shriners,Moms Quilting Club.....Etc,Etc. Its the complete stupidity of the law givers and keepers that have givin this name GANG. They are not gangs they are patriots and Americans thet enjoy freedoms won by the sacrifices of brothers and sisters who gave all for FREEDOM. If there is lawless ones they will pay a price,if there is good done they will reap a harvest. There is good and bad in ALL CLUBS. You just have to chose who you are!

Angels Hard As They Come (2001)

Comment: Sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll? These are your ""typical"" bikers! The Angels are a rowdy bunch of Harley-riding, women-chasing outlaws who live their lives on the edgeflying by the seat of their leather pants. But with carefree living there comes chaos, and these guys certainly get involved with their fair share of madness and mayhem.

Me and Will

Comment: Here we have a movie with an honest-to-Goddess STORY moving it along. No explosions, no gunfire, no special effects, no car chases. Just a damned good movie about two women who hit the road on their motorcycles, and find their souls while surfing the asphalt.

Radical Jack

Comment: Want a movie that's a fun waste of time?Little or no plot?Plenty of explosions, shootings, and scantily clad women? Then "Radical Jack" is perfect for you. Billy Ray stars as Radical Jack,a former CIA man out to avenge his family's deaths. He fights for truth, justice, and the American Way with his fists, his muscles, his guns--and his mullet. The plot is needlessly complicated with the CIA,arms deals, war veterans,etc-but it makes for good dumb fun early morning viewing.Yay!

Lone Hero

Comment: I got this because Lou Diamond was in it. I had no idea what it was going to be like. I was tired of getting movies that were not any good so I was looking for stars that I enjoy. I was so surprised. LDP plays a bad guy and does it so well. This is one that turned out to be fun and I am so glad I bought it.I always like Robert Forster and He was great also.

The Last Riders

Summary: When Johnny becomes a member of the Slaver s biker gang it s a dream come true. But the murder of a crooked cop calls for a scapegoat and he is chosen. Suddenly Wilson is alienated and the police convince the Slavers that Wilson sold them out and the gang returns to take the ultimate revenge. Now Wilson must seek revenge against his past and will not stop until justice is done.

Rebel Rousers

Comment: Hilariously bad! I love old Drive-In style biker flicks and this one is even worse than She-Devils On Wheels. A real gem of bad editing (the music is so loud at times you can't hear the dialogue), poor acting & blatant ad-libbing. This movie must have taken a whole week to make. All the bikes are Triumphs but Bruce Dern reads from a Harley-Davidson Service Manual. I loved Nicholson's prison striped pants with the dirty seat and a hole in them. I laughed my butt off on this one.

Angels Hard as They Come (2004)

Summary: A band of schizo bikers meets a van of wasted hippies in a weird ghost town and their mutual anarchy evolves into a free-form orgy. This biker movie glows with raw primitive energy rustic location shooting a progressive rock score and a group of the most unscrubbed characters you're ever likely to see. A fascinating 70's look at hippy culture vs. biker culture the two groups seem originally destined for compatibility with goal-less philosophy and wandering nomadic lifestyle but the disparity between the pacificism of the hips and impulsive war-like misery of the alcoholic bikers soon erupts into all- out war symbolized by the rape/murder of a hippie chick. The stoned losers roll between angry despair and reckless bravado ending in mutual impasse that reinforces their elemental hopelessness. This film powerfully discloses the disintegration of a culture that feeds on its own spiritual rootless ness. The verite camera style and the earthy realistic dialogue along with generous doses of nudity and violence make this a startling disturbing ultimately haunting experience.

Beyond the Law

Summary: Charlie Sheen is a fearless cop, who goes undercover in order to infiltrate a notorious motorcycle gang, in this film based on a true story. He soon finds a new outlaw persona taking hold of him and risks destroying himself by getting too close to the evil he has sworn to fight.

Easy Rider

Comment: This box-office hit from 1969 is an important pioneer of the American independent cinema movement, and a generational touchstone to boot. Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper play hippie motorcyclists crossing the Southwest and encountering a crazy quilt of good and bad people. Jack Nicholson turns up in a significant role as an attorney who joins their quest for awhile and articulates society's problem with freedom as Fonda's and Hopper's characters embody it. Hopper directed, essentially bringing the no-frills filmmaking methods of legendary, drive-in movie producer Roger Corman (The Little Shop of Horrors) to a serious feature for the mainstream. The film can't help but look a bit dated now (a psychedelic sequence toward the end particularly doesn't hold up well), but it retains its original power, sense of daring, and epochal impact.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

Summary: "Hotly staged bike chases" (Variety), state-of-the-art weaponry and "excellent explosions" (Hollywood Drama-Logue) form a deadly combination in this "lively" (Los Angeles Times) action film about a couple of modern-day, motorcycle-ridin' Robin Hoods. Starring Mickey Rourke (Get Carter), Don Johnson (Tin Cup) and Vanessa L. Williams (Shaft), Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man contains thrills and excitement that never let upwith surprise twists at every turn! In the lawless world of the future, drifters Harley Davidson (Rourke) and The Marlboro Man (Johnson) help an old friend save his bar by robbing the very bank trying to takeover his property. But this is no ordinary bank and the armored car they roll is filled not with moneybut drugs! Now Harley and Marlboro become the objects of a ruthless manhunt by the corrupt bank chief's deadly and unstoppable henchmen.

Hell Ride

Summary: From Producer Quentin Tarantino (Grindhouse Presents: Death Proof) and Writer/Director Larry Bishop (Mad Dog Time) comes this lean, mean mayhem machine - fully loaded with bikers, babes, and booze. Michael Madsen (Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2), Eric Balfour (TV's "24") and legendary "Easy Rider" Dennis Hopper are part of a wild motorcycle gang bent on avenging the death of one of their own. With Vinnie Jones (The Condemned) as the crazed arrow-wielding rival gang leader, Hell Ride is a savagely enjoyable good-time where the women are hot, the bikes are even hotter, and the action never stops!

The Losers

Summary: It was a mission no one in their right mind would take: rescue a captured CIA operative from a highly-fortified Red Chinese compound in Cambodia at the height of the Vietnam War. Enter The Devil's Advocates-- a red-knuckled, freewheeling, hellraising biker gang comprised largely of war veterans. Led by Link Thomas (screen legend William Smith) and loosely supervised by U.S. Army Capt. Jackson (the inimitable Bernie Hamilton), the curiously good-hearted gang drink and laugh and love and fight their way through the scenic countryside before retrofitting a slew of Yamaha motorcycles into armor-plated machines of death and destruction. And that's when the real fun begins... but at a high price!

Run, Angel, Run

Comment: What can I say? I was named after the character in this movie so it has certain sentimental value for me. The main character's actions are a bit frustrating at times. You may find yourself thinking, "why the f*&@ would he do something like that?!" But I guess that is the way of the B-movie, things don't always fit together perfectly and make sense. Cool to see some old-school motorcycles and choppers! Sometimes you gotta love bad movies...

Bikers From Hell, Triple Feature: Run, Angel, Run / Hell's Angels 69 / Hell's Bloody Devils

Comment: I enjoyed watching these movies. The real Hells Angels(Oakland chapters founder/president Sonny Barger and others) are in HA69.If you like old biker movies buy this. Joe Bob Briggs is never at a loss of words. The commentary extra feature with him was cool.

Hells Angels on Wheels

Summary: When he loses his job, gas station attendant Poet (Academy Award-winner Jack Nicholson) falls in with a rough band of Hells Angels who terrorize Northern California in a hellraising frenzy of parties and gang fights. Choppers, drugs, sex, murder and mayhem ensue as Poet and gang leader Buddy (Adam Roarke) head down a dark road to danger. From acclaimed cult director Richard Rush (The Stunt Man) with cinematography by the legendary László Kovács (Easy Rider, Paper Moon) and music by Stu Phillips (Battlestar Gallactica, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls).

Biker Dreams

Comment: This is a good little flick for a number of reasons.
First is it light-hearted and well knitted together making it a pleasure to watch.
Second, the contrast between all those presented and the roles they play in the Greater Harley Society bear close attention and appreciation.
Sturgis is perhaps the most unique gathering of motorcyclists from every facet of the Harley culture (as well as other brands) in the United States. This is a good first effort at presenting just a splinter of that event, putting faces to stories and stories on film.Having owned and ridden three HDs, one a '43 45cc stocker, I truly felt for Martin when his snazzy semi-custom HD went on the fritz along the way to Sturgis. Some things about Harley Davidson do not change with time / evolution of the "product".
Respect to "Liddo" Jim Cornett and Resurrection MC. Nice little flick for the collection.

The Wild One

Summary: This is the original motorcycle movie, starring Marlon Brando as the brooding leader of a biker gang that invades a small town. The film always looked like one of those synthetic Hollywood ideas of subculture life in the 1950s, which means it looks even more artificial today. But it is an actor's piece more than anything, and toward that end Brando's performance really is an important one in the context of his revolutionary reinvention of film acting during that decade. Directed by Lásló Benedek (Namu, the Killer Whale) and produced by the socially conscious Stanley Kramer.

Hollywood Biker Chicks

Summary: They're hot and fast. And, they're especially happy when riding hard or hard ridden. So, get ready because you're in the driver's seat with some heavenly biker babes including former Penthouse Pet of the Year Julie Strain, and Penthouse centerfold model Shannon Brock.

Bikini Bandits Save Christmas

Summary: Join the infamous Bikini Bandits in their first full-length animated feature film as they try to save Christmas from the evil Mr. G. You'll see a whole new kind of Christmas "tail" with zombie strippers, muscle cars, voodoo magic and heavy artillery. So exciting you'll drop a yule log! Featuring Tool#s Maynard James Keenan as Father Christmas!Music by The Misfits and A Perfect Circle! Also starring Schoolly D, Godfather of Gangsta Rap!

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Summary: A nice rest in a state mental hospital beats a stretch in the pen, right? Randle P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholson), a free-spirited con with lightning in his veins and glib on his tongue, fakes insanity and moves in with what he calls the "nuts." Immediately, his contagious sense of disorder runs up against numbing routine. No way should guys pickled on sedatives shuffle around in bathrobes when the World Series is on. This means war! On one side is McMurphy. On the other is soft-spoken Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher), among the most coldly monstrous villains in film history. At stake is the fate of every patient on the ward. Based on Ken Kesey's acclaimed bestseller, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest swept all five major 1975 Academy Awards: Best Picture (produced by Saul Zaentz and Michael Douglas), Actor (Nicholson), Actress (Fletcher), Director (Milos Forman) and Adapted Screenplay (Lawrence Hauben and Bo Goldman). Raucous, searing and with a superb cast that includes Brad Dourif, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd in his film debut, this one soars.
